Enrollment Agreement

This page shows the framework of the agreement a family signs at enrollment. It is published now so families can read it before applying. It becomes a binding agreement only when both the family and the academy sign a dated copy, and no payment is collected through this website.

Version dated 24 October 2026

This document is published for the academy's review with its advisors before public launch. It describes current practice, and it will be dated again once that review is complete.

Parties and purpose

The agreement is between the enrolling parent or guardian and Beit YisraEL Academy of Arts & Sciences, and covers the program named in the signed copy, the term, and the services the academy will provide.

In our homeschool programs the parent or guardian remains the primary educator and retains legal responsibility for the student's education under the law of the state where the family resides.

Program and services

  • Homeschool Basics: a written course plan, academy curriculum sequence for core subjects, quarterly progress review with an advisor, record-keeping framework, family portal access, and a monthly parent cohort meeting. Tuition is $70 per month.
  • Homeschool Plus: everything in Homeschool Basics plus weekly live small-group instruction, teacher-graded assignments in core subjects, monthly one-to-one academic coaching, and priority consideration for future academy seats. Tuition is $100 per month.
  • The Virtual Private School and the Houston Microschool are planned for the 2027-28 school year. Tuition, inclusions and capacity will be published and confirmed in writing before enrollment for those programs opens.

Tuition, billing and payment terms

Billing is not enabled on this website. Payment instructions, billing dates, accepted payment methods and any late-payment terms will be stated in the signed agreement and invoice issued by the academy.

Before enrollment for any program opens, the academy will publish the exact inclusions, the cancellation and refund terms, the applicable tax treatment, and the payment processor it uses. No family is asked to pay before those terms are given in writing.

Cancellation, withdrawal and refunds

  • Withdrawal terms, notice periods, and refund treatment will be stated in the signed agreement and will comply with applicable Texas consumer law.
  • Where a family withdraws, the academy will state in writing what is refundable and what is not, and will not treat a partial month as a full month unless the signed agreement says so.
  • Cancellation and refund terms are finalised with the academy's advisors before billing begins, and this page will be updated when they are.

Capacity, waitlists and changes

  • Where a program publishes a capacity, enrollment is confirmed only while seats remain, checked at the moment an enrollment is accepted.
  • If a seat is not available, the family may join a waitlist. A waitlist place is not an enrollment and carries no charge.
  • If the academy must change a program's schedule, format or staffing, it will notify enrolled families in writing and offer a reasonable remedy, including withdrawal with any refund the signed agreement allows.

Family responsibilities

  • Provide accurate enrollment information and keep contact details current.
  • Supervise the student's work, maintain the family's own homeschool compliance where required by state law, and keep the academy informed of significant changes affecting the student's participation.
  • Use academy materials for your own family only, and treat staff and other families with respect in live sessions.

Academy responsibilities

  • Deliver the services described in the signed program description.
  • Keep academic records as described in the Student Data Policy, and provide families with their own records on request.
  • Tell families promptly if the academy cannot deliver a service as described.
  • Protect student information, limiting staff access to those who need it and logging that access.

Accreditation and statements of status

The academy is not accredited and does not claim accreditation or state approval. Transcripts and records issued by the academy are academy records. Families who need documents that a particular institution will accept should confirm that requirement before enrolling.

Disputes

The parties will first try to resolve any dispute directly and in writing. The signed agreement will state the governing law (Texas) and any further step agreed between the parties.
